ps.
isn't "in deinen augen" supposed to be "in deiner Augen" since its referring to a location, where you would use the dative endings? Or is it because you are doing the looking therefore its considered accusative endings?
ahh I can't help but lean more german everywhere I go lol...
First, the sentence is true, because.. you know it's my motherlanguage, it sounds right for me and I'm writing and reading a lot... but I can't explain why.
Anyway..I found these cases:
To get the Accusative (usually the Direct Object) I ask:
>WEN seh ich in deinen Augen?
Answer:
>Ich seh EIN MEER in deinen Augen
To get the Nominative (subject) I ask:
>WER sieht ein Meer in deinen Augen?
Answer:
>ICH seh ein Meer in deinen Augen
Now to the "in deinen Augen". Maybe I'm not right about this, cause 30% of all german-speaking people cannot correctly identify the "dative". It simply is not often used when talking in dialect.
But "in deinen Augen" isn't a Dative as I see it, because a Dative isn't about possession. Which is the case here.. I ask
>In WESSEN Augen seh ich ein Meer? (To who belong these eyes?)
Answer:
>Ich seh in DEINEN Augen ein Meer.
I hope I didn't confuse you now
Nice work.
